Coach Book Distribution and In-Person Soccer-Coach Training

Attention RYSA coaches : THANK YOU for going through the back ground check and online training to get SafeSport Certified and HeadsUp Ready to prevent Concussions.

NEXT step : The board of RYSA will be distributing coaches books at the Roswell Recreation & Aquatic Center, 1402 W College Blvd, Roswell, NM 88201, Tuesday March 8, 2022, 5PM.

At this required meeting, all Head Coaches will receive their rosters with books containing ALL information for participating in a successful season. PLEASE read the info contained in the book. This will answer many of the most commonly asked questions for coaches and parents, including who is responsible for putting up and taking down the nets, how many kids play on the field at a time, when is the jersey sale, how long are the quarters supposed to last, who keeps time & score, where do we access our game schedules, can we reschedule games, how do we schedule team photos, what do we do if there is an injury, etc?

Immediately following the meeting, all coaches have the opportunity to attend an IN-PERSON training at the Rec Center (and fields) to prepare you for your coaching duties. This is put on by NMYSA Technical Director Rick Flores. As a member benefit, NMYSA offers free coaching clinics to member affiliates, which includes RYSA. These clinics are designed to introduce coaches to the basics of coaching soccer. These clinics are customized by the Technical Director to fit the needs of local leagues/clubs.

Lastly, let's have a safe and fun season. We need your help to make it successful and we want to provide you with support and resources to do so. In addition to the awesome NMYSA technical training from Rick Flores, here is a link to the App MOJO Sports

As a volunteer coach myself, I use it before every practice to get ideas and line out a game plan for learning. I hope you find as much success as I have. See you on the pitch!
