Coaches

 

Coach’s team assignments and books will hopefully be distributed on September 1, 2019

All coaches must register to the Stack Sports system annually through their league or club. You may visit your local league or club’s website to access the coach’s registration link or visit www.nmysalive.net, select “Directory” from the tool bar, then click on the URL for the league or club you are registering with.  Direct link is here.

Returning Coaches 

Safe Sport Training – If you took the SafeSport online course last season, (all three parts), you do not need to take the complete course again. You will however need to take the new annual Safe Sport refresher course. To access the refresher course, you will need to do so through your Stack Sports member account. For Safe Sport training or for the Safe Sport refresher course click the button “Abuse Prevention Certificate”, “Begin Training”, as indicated in the example below. Once you complete the refresher course you will need to upload your certificate to the Stack Sports system by clicking the upload button as shown in the attached example. 

Concussion CDC Training – If you took your CDC Heads Up in Concussion online course with in the last 4 years, (certificates are good for 4 years), please re-load your concussion certificate in the section marked “Upload” on your member account in Stack Sports. If you have lost or misplaced your certificate, please contact the State Office at nmsoccer@nmysa.net as we may be able to retrieve that document from last season. 

New Coaches 

Safe Sport Training – If you are a new coach to NMYSA, you will be required to take the complete SafeSport training, (3 parts) through the Center of Safe Sports. To do so, sign on to your Stack Member Account and click on the “Abuse Prevention Certificate, “Begin Training” button. This will allow you to log into the Center for Safe Sport, (giving you access through USSF, code and making the course free of charge). You will need be prompted to create an account with Safe Sport and then gain access to the three-part online training. The course will take about 1-1 1⁄2 hours so please allow enough time, (you can always leave the course and return to complete each section). Once you have completed all sections, you will be prompted to upload your “Safe Sport Trained” certificate to the Stack System. 

Concussion CDC Training – All coaches are required to take the CDC “Heads Up” Concussion Training every 4 years. To do so, please click on the CDC link for the on line course at, https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html. This course is about 30 minutes long. Once complete, please save your “Heads Up” concussion training certificate to your desktop. You will then need to sign on to your Stack Member Account and click on the “Concussion Training Certificate”, “Upload” icon and then upload your certificate. 

Semi-annual Background Checks, Concussion training, (every 4 years) and annual Safe Sport training are all mandates from our national governing bodies, USSF and USYS. We understand that this training is time consuming and want you to know that we appreciate your compliance. We hope you will understand the importance of the training and how your roll as coaches and administrators are relative. Please know that we value your time and contributions in bring the game of soccer to the youth players in your community. This will be very good sessions for both new and experienced coaches.

GAME-DAY CANCELLATIONS

If games are cancelled due to bad weather, there will be a message on the answering machine at 575-622-0690, on the Roswellsoccer.org website and Facebook at Roswell Youth Soccer Association. If the message has not been changed to state that the games are cancelled, then you need to go to the fields. Coaches are responsible for contacting their teams so please don’t have your team parents call the league. If you have a question that pertains to coaching or problems on your teams, please contact the RYSA at 575-622-0690 and leave a message. The referees are there to help the game run smoothly.
