NOTICE – RULES & CONDUCT
ROSWELL YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION
My child has registered to play soccer with the Roswell Youth Soccer Association. I agree to the following:

  1. I will sit at least five yards from the side lines on the opposite side of the field from the players. I will not stand beyond the 18 yard line or behind the goals at either end of the field while play is in progress.

  2. I will not harass, threaten, criticize or assault a player, coach or referee before, during or at the conclusion of the game.

  3. Should I violate any of the above rules, the game will be stopped and I will be escorted from the field.

  4. I am fully aware that verbal and physical abuse of a referee is a crime that is subject to disciplinary action by Roswell Youth Soccer Association and New Mexico Youth Soccer Association and could result in criminal charges being filed against me.

REFEREE INFORMATION
If you are interested in earning some money and can commit to work the games during the Spring Season; contact the Referee Director for RYSA. Requirements include attending the referee training session, be at least eleven (11)years old and have soccer experience. Please leave a message at 575-622-0690 and she will contact you when the referee training session has been scheduled.

FIFA REFEREE LAWS AS ADAPTED BY THE RYSA

The Season Games are played on Saturdays. Report at 7:30 am for field assignments. Games normally end at 3:00 pm 
Referee will be loaned equipment and a gold t-shirt for use during the games. Referees must bring these items with them on game days.

Use discretion if a “problem” individual corrects his or her own behavior. If behavior becomes unreasonable or to the point that the game should not continue, stop the game and issue a yellow card to the coach for parent or coach behavior. Issue a yellow card to individual players if the player’s behavior is a problem. If necessary, inform both coaches that play will be stopped to summon a board member or senior referee to resolve a problem.

Team captains may ask what call is made, no other comments need a response from the referee. You may also request that a board member be present at the game if you anticipate problems.
